WeCare For You International Organization (WECFYIO) is an incorporated trustees non-profit registered in Nigeria under CAC/IT/NO. 134032, with its registered office at Suite No 5, Seynu A Seyne Building, Opposite FCE Yola, along Yola Road, Jimeta, Yola North, Adamawa State. This policy covers wecareforyouinternational.org — the website you are reading — and the personal information it handles.
In short
- We collect personal information only when you type it into one of four forms: contact, volunteer application, newsletter, and donation enquiry.
- This site sets no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies. Nothing follows you to another website.
- What you submit is stored in the organization's own database on the server that runs this site. It is not sold, rented, or passed to a marketing platform.
- No payment details are collected anywhere on this site. We ask for no card number, no bank account, and no transaction reference — see our warning about donation fraud.
- You can ask us to delete what we hold about you by emailing contact@wecareforyouinternational.org.
What we collect, and only when you send it
There are four forms on this website. Each one lists exactly the fields it stores — there are no hidden fields collecting anything else.
Contact form
Your name, your email address, the subject you choose from the list, and your message.
Volunteer application
Your name, email address, phone number, where you are based, the skills you list, your availability, your reasons for volunteering, and — only if you attach one — a CV document.
Newsletter
Your email address, and your name if you give it. Nothing else.
Donation enquiry
Your name, email address, the organization you represent if you give one, the kind of support you are enquiring about, and your message. This form takes no amount, no currency, and no payment identifier of any kind, because the organization does not process payments through this website.
Anti-spam checks
When a form is submitted, the application reads the forwarded network address of the connection so it can apply a short-lived submission limit — a few submissions per connection, per window — which blunts automated spam. That value is held in the running server's memory for the length of the window and is never written to the database or attached to your message. Each form also carries a hidden field that a human never sees and never fills in; a submission that fills it is discarded.
Lawful basis for handling your information
As a Nigerian organization, our primary framework is the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Under it we rely on:
- Your consent. You decide whether to write to us. Filling in a form and pressing send is the consent, and you can withdraw it afterwards by asking us to delete what you sent.
- Legitimate interest. Having received an enquiry, a volunteer application, or an offer of support, we have an obvious interest in reading it, replying to it, and keeping the thread coherent while the conversation is live.
If you write to us from the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR and the UK GDPR apply to that correspondence. The equivalent bases are Article 6(1)(a) for consent — including newsletter sign-up — and Article 6(1)(f) for the legitimate interest in responding to you. You keep the full set of rights those regulations give you, listed below.
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling on anything you send us. A person reads it.
Where your information is held
Form submissions are written to the organization's own database, which runs alongside this website on the server that hosts it. They are read through a password-protected administrative area available only to authorised staff of the organization. There is no third-party customer-relationship tool, no email marketing platform, and no analytics warehouse holding a second copy.
One thing to be aware of: the address we publish for correspondence is a Gmail account. Email you send to it is stored on Google's mail service under Google's own terms, not on this site's server. If that matters for what you need to tell us, call one of the published phone numbers instead — +2348036492425 or +2347033502310.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send for as long as it serves the purpose you sent it for, and no longer: a message while the conversation and any follow-up are live; a volunteer application while the role or the pool it relates to is open; a newsletter address until you unsubscribe; a donation enquiry while the funding conversation continues, plus the period our donor and statutory reporting obligations require records to be retained.
We are not going to publish a precise retention schedule for each record type on this page, because we would be inventing one. If you need to know the current retention position for a specific record — as a donor conducting due diligence, or as the person the record is about — ask us and we will tell you what applies.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and under the GDPR or UK GDPR where they apply to you, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you, and why.
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete what we hold, where we have no overriding legal reason to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how we are using it.
- Withdraw consent at any time, including unsubscribing from the newsletter. Withdrawal does not undo anything done lawfully beforehand.
- Receive a copy of what you gave us in a portable form, where that right applies.
Exercising any of these is free, and we will not treat you differently for it. If you are in Nigeria and you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can complain to your national supervisory authority.
Asking us to delete your information
Email contact@wecareforyouinternational.org with “Data request” in the subject line, and tell us:
- Which form you used — contact, volunteer, newsletter, or donation enquiry — and roughly when.
- The email address you used, so we can find the record. It is the only reliable key we hold.
- Whether you want a copy, a correction, or deletion.
We may ask one follow-up question to confirm the request comes from you, and we will not ask for identity documents to service a routine request. If we cannot delete something because a statutory retention obligation applies to it, we will say so and explain which obligation.
What we do not claim
Trust is easier to lose than to build, so this page states no arrangement the organization has not told us it has. We do not claim a privacy certification, an external audit of this policy, a named data protection officer, or a formal breach notification procedure on this page.
If you are carrying out due diligence and need the organization's current position on any of those, ask us in writing and we will answer with what is actually in place. Our registrations, including the entries with the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Adamawa State Planning Commission, are published on the registration and compliance page.
Changes to this policy, and how to reach us
If this website changes what it collects, this page changes with it in the same update — a new form, an analytics tool, or an embedded third-party service would all make several statements above untrue, and none may be added quietly.
For anything on this page, write to contact@wecareforyouinternational.org, call +2348036492425 or +2347033502310, or use the contact form.
